Warm Cabbage Salad - 4 Servings. Cook:20 Min ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Serve this warm salad with hearty braised entrees. The cabbage and the dressing should be combined just before service. Ingredients ~~~~~~~~~ 1/2 Cabbage, cut into 1-inch squares 1 tblsp Water 1/4 tsp Salt 1/2 tsp Vegetable oil 1/2 Spanish onion, chopped 1/4 cup Bacon, chopped 2 garlic Clove, minced 1 tblsp Parsley, chopped 3 tblsp Heavy cream 2 tsp Fresh lemon juice Preparation ~~~~~~~~~~ 1. Separate the cabbage leaves and cut into 1-inch squares. 2. Combine the cabbage, water and salt in a plastic bowl. Cover with plastic wrap and microwave on high for 5 minutes. 3. Heat oil in a saute pan over medium-high heat. 4. Stir in onion and bacon, and cook for 2 minutes. 5. Add bacon mixture to cabbage with parsley. 6. Return pan to heat and add cream and lemon juice, stirring to release browned bits from the bottom of the pan. 7. Pour cream mixture over cabbage and gently toss to combine. Serve immediately.
